    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 23, 2016 (Cleveland, OH) – Local tea party leaders from around the country today announced the launch of the TeaPartyforTrump.org website, which will be the online news and information center for a series of events to get the vote out in the November, 2016 election.

Tea Party for Trump is partnering with the National Rifle Association in key swing states around the country, including Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida.

The first national event of Tea Party for Trump will be held August 27th in the Columbus, Ohio.

“The great thing about this project is that volunteers from anywhere in the United States can help get-out-the-vote in these key swing states by simply signing up on our web site,” Tea Party for Trump spokesman Bill Hennessy said.

“I helped found the Tea Party for Trump project because after a series of critical, hard-won election cycles in 2010 and 2014, I felt like we are ready to focus our efforts on winning the White House,” Hennessy said.

“Tea Party for Trump is a fun, simple way for people to become involved in a substantial, productive way, no matter where you are in the country,” he added.

On February 27, 2009, the Tea Party movement was launched with simultaneous tea parties in fifty cities which were attended by more than 30,000 tea partiers. This was immediately followed by the Tax Day Tea Party on April 15, 2009, when over 1 million tea partiers participated in rallies held in more than 900 cities. This series of rallies transformed into the Tea Party movement.

A group of some of the original organizers of the Tea Party rallies of 2009 have come together to launch the Tea Party for Trump (#TP4T), an intensive get-out-the-vote project to raise awareness and participation in the 2016 presidential election this November 8.

The project’s website, TeaPartyforTrump.org is currently recruiting volunteers for work in the critical swing state of Ohio.

“Already, Tea Party activists across America have contacted us through our website to join us in Ohio, on the ground,” said Tom Zawistowski, Founding Member and spokesman for Tea Party for Trump.

TeaPartyforTrump.org is designed to give every American who wants to oppose the Left’s progressive agenda a way to channel their support directly to the important get-out-the-vote effort in Ohio.

“Our project answers the question we hear most often from Tea Party and grassroots activists around the country: ‘What can I do?’” said Zawistowski.

He added, “After a quick sign-up, volunteers from anywhere in the country can help. For example, people can make phone calls, travel to Ohio in person to help with get-out-the-vote efforts, or even participate in our unique Postcard Program.”

The Tea Party for Trump project is the next step in a far-reaching, multi-election-cycle plan to return the US government to a more reasonable size and scope.

“In 2010, Tea Party and liberty-minded grassroots people organized to build the conservative majority in the House, where we won by record margins of 63 seats,” Hennessy explained. “In 2014, we focused on the Senate, picking up nine seats.

“To date, along the way, a total of over 900 elected offices have been won at the local, state and national levels with the tireless efforts of people all across the country who are fed up with out-of-touch elitists telling them to ‘sit down, shut up, and do what we say.’

“After we deliver the White House to the outsider, Donald Trump, we can begin, in earnest, the process of returning our country to her founding principles of constitutional adherence, fiscal responsibility, free markets.”

TeapartyforTrump.org represents yet another organizational and technological innovation in the Tea Party movement’s decentralized approach to political engagement. The group’s official kick-off will be in Columbus, Ohio on August 27th. Check the website for more details.
